Founded in 1975, AFCI has expanded into the world’s largest film commissioners’ network, which includes more than 300 film commissions from 6 continents. It’s been lacking Russia for a while as the largest and, perhaps, the most diverse country in the world but now the gap is closed.
‘I have been in contact with the AFCI Board of Directors for about a year’, says Val Kupeev, CEO ROFC, ‘and have learned a lot from them. I have visited the AFCI Cineposium, Czech and Vienna film commissions to better understand the rules. So, becoming a part of the organization was a natural step forward. AFCI is a huge source of information for those who are just starting as well those who are already in the industry. It’s like a big family where everybody helps each other’.
Russian Office of Film Commissions is present at Cannes Marché Du Film this year, which is going to be the first official event for the organization as well as the first event as a member of AFCI.
